With the application of digital information and collaboration comes the possibility and realization of Building Information Modeling (“BIM”).  BIM, and collaborative building, begins at the onset of the construction process and continues through the hands of building owners and building maintenance organizations using the information during the life of the building.  At all phases of BIM’s life cycle value is added either with cost savings produced, additional costs avoided or time saved during the construction process.  The added value can be realized by numerous beneficiaries (stakeholders), including: architects, engineers, contractors, planners, realtors, estimators, and any other group affiliated with the building process.
